Kale
Kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala) is a cold-hardy, loose-leaf green with blue-green, elongated leaves that grow in a rosette form. It can be enjoyed fresh or cooked and thrives in full sun to part shade with fertile, well-draining soil. Harvest continuously by picking the largest leaves first, cutting at the base while leaving the center intact. For the best flavor, harvest after a light frost, which naturally sweetens the leaves.
