Common Name: Blue Rug Juniper

4–6″ tall × 6–8′ wide

Growth Habit: Very low, mat-forming evergreen groundcover with prostrate branching. Forms a flat, spreading carpet with outward-radiating stems. Fast growth rate under full sun conditions.

Foliage Description: Fine-textured, needle-like juvenile foliage in intense silvery-blue to steel-blue tones. Dense surface coverage with tight branching near the soil line.

Flower Description: Inconspicuous; female plants may produce small blue berry-like cones.

Bloom Time: Spring (non-showy reproductive structures)

Fall Color: Evergreen; may develop slight purplish cast in winter.

Light Requirements: Full sun for best density and strongest blue coloration.

Hardiness Zone: USDA Zones 3–9
