Acorn Squash
Acorn squash is a small, round, ribbed vegetable with thick, deep green skin, and a mild, slightly nutty flavor, ideal for roasting or stuffing. For healthy growth, plant in well-draining soil with good air circulation to prevent disease. Harvest when the rind hardens, cutting the squash from the vine with a short stem attached. Companion planting with corn and beans can boost yield, and adding flowers nearby helps attract bees for effective pollination.
